Aravalli Range
The Aravalli Range is one of the world’s oldest mountain ranges, stretching approximately 670-692 km from Delhi to Gujarat in north-western India, with its highest peak, Guru Shikhar, in Rajasthan. It acts as an ecotone between the Thar Desert and the Indo-Gangetic Plain, serving as a natural barrier against desert expansion and a source of water and biodiversity, though it faces significant threats from mining, pollution, and deforestation.
