The powers of a president vary significantly depending on the country’s system of government. In India, the President is the head of the state with executive powers that are exercised on the advice of the Council of Ministers, acting as a custodian of the Constitution, and having legislative powers like giving assent to bills and promulgating ordinances. In contrast, the US President holds significant executive power as the Commander-in-Chief, the ability to make treaties, appoint officials with Senate approval, and power to veto or sign legislation.
